Hey everyone, its Sarah and I'm back with another book review. Today's review is on The Spook’s Curse by Joseph Delaney, which is the sequel to The Spook’s Apprentice.

I was so glad that I was able to read the sequel to The Spook’s Apprentice so quickly. I absolutely loved the first book and this book was great, but it had a few things that to me didn’t make it as great. The storyline itself and the characters are all fantastic. To me it just seemed almost identical to the first storyline. The layout or the format of the story seemed to be the exact same with no swaying differences. The circumstances and the villains were all different but the way the story was structure and unfolded seemed to be the same. I know that with most sequels this is the case but they normally have some sort of alteration to make it unique. To me though, this didn’t have that. It didn’t ruin the story for me but I did bring down the rating in my eyes.

The things I did love though, which outweigh what I didn’t, were the characters that have returned. Bigger and better in the sequel we get to learn more about the Spook, Gregory and our main boy Thomas who is slowly growing up. Also the antagonist in this book I found interesting as well and enjoyed them in the story. There is also two antagonists, each have their own part and without them the story wouldn’t be the same.

Everything was great with this book and I simply don’t have much else to say. Overall, I gave this book a four out of five, since it is great but the similarities for me don’t give it as much punch as I would like.

But that’s all for now.

I’ll write you soon.
