Hey everyone, its Sarah and I'm back with another book review. Today's review is on The Book of You by Claire Kendal.

The Book of You is a terrifying psychological thriller about a woman named Clarissa who is becoming more and more frightened of her colleague, Rafe. He wont leave her alone and he refuses to take no for an answer. Everywhere she goes he is always there, leaving her gifts she doesn’t want and digging through her trash. But being selected for jury duty is a relief to Clarissa as she can finally get away from him, a safe haven where Rafe can’t be. But as Clarissa listens to a violent tale of kidnap and abuse unfolds before her, she begins to see parallels between her own situation and that of the young woman on the stand. Realizing that she bears the burden of proof, Clarissa unravels the twisted fairy-tale that Rafe has spun around them and discovers that the ending he envisions is more terrifying than she could have imagined.

This book from the moment I picked it up to the moment I put it down kept me enthralled with itself story. I spent hours every day wanting to read more to find out what would happen next. I had never read anything like this before and it is simply amazing. While I felt terrified for the main character Clarissa, it didn’t scare me enough to stop reading; I wanted to know what would happen to these characters.

The writing of the book is just absolutely amazing, the pace keeps steady and doesn’t slow down or speed up too fast at any point, it moves along and you don’t get bored. Every line in this book will keep you wanting more than you won’t know when to stop, and the aching neck and back that tell you that you have been in one place for too long won’t stop you.

The characters themselves are also fantastic, while Clarissa is certainty a victim in this story she isn’t weak. In fact, Clarissa is an extremely strong woman who doesn’t let Rafe break her; she pushes on with her life trying to find a way to get rid of him once and or all. She sees that every little thing he does wrong is a step closer to getting rid of him, but she also knows that it’s a step closer for him as well.

This book is an amazing read and I think everyone should read this. It is an amazing book for Claire Kendal’s first book and I cannot wait for her second one.

But that’s all for now.

I’ll write you soon.
